Mija’s Story

Mija Stockman was in a tragic 3-car accident on the morning of December 20th, 2013 on her way to the last day of work before Christmas break. She was taken to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. She sustained multiple injuries including a basilar skull fracture with major bleeding and swelling in her brain and a broken ankle.  Mija lives in Lindsborg, KS and teaches elementary physical education in McPherson, KS. She has 3 beautiful daughters, Eryn (20), Brynne (16) and Taylor (11). She has a huge heart and big smile.  She has a bubbly personality and loves to sing.  There is not anything she would not do for someone in need. She has impacted many lives while living and teaching in the towns of Lindsborg, Salina, Lyons, McPherson and beyond.

Mija currently resides at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital. She is making great progress in her therapy! She is now talking and eating regular food!! She does still get nutrition through her PEG tube but she also gets 3 meals a day. She mostly feeds herself but when she gets tired, she needs some assistance. We are anxious to see her continued progress. She has goals of making it to softball games this spring and in May she is hoping to attend her sister, Mauri’s graduation from Washburn with her MSN FNP.

As you can imagine the medical costs are still overwhelming for her family, as well as constant travel. Donations may be made on this website and also through Peoples Bank in Lindsborg, McPherson, Inman, or Hutchinson or mail your donation into 201 S. Main Street, P.O. Box 111, Lindsborg, KS 67456.

Please continue to keep the prayers and good vibes coming her way. Thank you!
